How to Find My Internal Broken Links

In Ubersuggest, you can find broken links by performing a site audit for your website. This article will guide you on how to check for broken links in the Ubersuggest report and locate them within your domain.

  1. Go to the Site Audit page. 
  1. Type your domain and start scanning your site.  

After the Audit finishes, click to see all issues and look for the broken links sections. 

  

The broken report will display the main URL and the links that you have inside the main url that are broken. 

How to Find the Broken Link Inside the Domain

Once Ubersuggest identifies the broken links, you need to locate and fix them within your domain. Here’s how to do it:  

Step 1: Access Your Website's Backend

Log in to your website's content management system (CMS) or backend. This could be WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, or any other platform you use to manage your site.  

Step 2: Locate the Problematic Pages

Using the information provided by Ubersuggest, find the pages that contain the broken links. Ubersuggest will provide the URL of the page where each broken link is located.  

Step 3: Edit the Page

Navigate to the editor for the specific page that contains the broken link. This might involve going to the "Pages" or "Posts" section in your CMS and selecting the appropriate page.   

Step 4: Fix the Broken Link

Find the broken link within the page's content. Check the URL to identify the problem:   

  • Typographical errors: Correct any typos in the URL. 
  • Moved or deleted pages: If the linked page has been moved or deleted, update the link to point to the new location or remove the link if the content is no longer available. 
  • Relative path issues: Ensure that relative paths are correctly formatted. 

Step 5: Save and Test 

After making the necessary corrections, save the changes and test the link to ensure it is now working correctly. Click on the link to verify that it directs to the correct page without any errors.   

Step 6: Verify Fixes in Ubersuggest

After updating the links on your site, run another site audit in Ubersuggest to ensure that the broken links have been resolved. Check the audit results to confirm that the previously identified issues no longer exist. 

  Regularly audit your website using Ubersuggest to catch and fix any new broken links that may appear over time. Keeping your site free of broken links ensures a better user experience and helps maintain your SEO performance.
