Ubersuggest’s Backlink Overview feature displays a selection of the most relevant backlinks to a website based on each link’s quality and traffic potential. This article provides an overview of how the feature functions and why some backlinks may not appear in the report.
Why Can’t I See Recently Added Backlinks?
Not Discovered
Ubersuggest may not have detected your link yet. The tool prioritizes crawling high-value links, meaning it may take longer for lower-priority links to appear.
Non-Canonical Content
Crawlers ignore non-canonical content to prevent duplication, meaning pages without proper canonicalization won’t be fully indexed for backlinks.
Robots Exclusion & Meta Noindex
If a page includes a noindex meta tag or is excluded by robots.txt, it won’t be included in Ubersuggest's backlink data. For more on how these exclusions affect link indexing, visit our robots.txt guide on Neil’s blog.
How Often Is the Backlinks Data Updated?
Ubersuggest partners with a leading SEO data provider, updating backlink data monthly to prioritize high-value, crawlable pages. Millions of new pages are indexed daily, and with each update, users gain more comprehensive insights. For details, refer to our Backlink Overview feature guide.
Where Does Ubersuggest Data Come From?
Ubersuggest sources data via the Moz API, known for its accuracy. This data includes key metrics like Domain Authority and Page Authority to help users gauge the ranking potential of links. Note that these figures may not always align with Google Analytics, as different SEO tools pull from unique data sources and use their algorithms.
How Long Does It Take for New Backlinks to Appear?
Once discovered, links appear in Ubersuggest organically, though there’s currently no option to request indexing. Pages missing canonicalization or those excluded by robots.txt or noindex tags won’t be crawled.
Comparing Ubersuggest's Backlink Report with Other Tools
Differences between backlink data in Ubersuggest and other tools are expected due to unique data sources, algorithms, and crawlers.
Exporting Backlinks to PDF
A new feature allows users to export their backlink reports to PDF, making it easier to share or archive backlink data. Simply click the export option at the top of the report, and download the file.
