How Do I Check My Rankings?
Discovering how keywords perform over time is made easy with Ubersuggest. To begin this insightful journey, creating a project is essential. Once set up, users will gain access to a wealth of data, including weekly email notifications for monthly users, allowing them to track improvements or changes in their keyword rankings.
A key feature within the Dashboard is the Rank Tracking report. This report provides a snapshot of a site's ranking, showcasing the performance of specific keywords over time. It's important to maintain the project for continuous access to historical ranking data.
For a detailed view of the keywords, users can just navigate to the project referenced in the Rank Tracking report. Here, users can visually assess which keywords are improving or experiencing fluctuations through arrows and graphs. Clicking on the "See Trend" button unveils even more insightful details.
Crucially, keep in mind that the inclusion of a keyword doesn't guarantee immediate data visibility. Certain criteria must be met, such as the presence of the tracked keyword within the site's content. The report exclusively displays data for keywords indexed by Google on the website.
If users encounter a "not ranked" dash in the report, refer to our article for further guidance on resolving such instances. Ubersuggest empowers users with comprehensive insights, ensuring users stay informed about their keyword rankings and website performance.
How to Read the Rank Tracking Report?
The top part of the report has frequency options, such as Last 2 Weeks, Last Month, etc., and the option to select a custom timeframe. It also has location options and two tracking types: desktop and Mobile.
Right below that, two parallel features: Average Position, and Current Search Result Rankings.
The Average Position shows an average of all the keywords tracked in the project. Current Search Result Rankings summarize the keywords ranking in the Top 3, Top 10, and Top 100, and the terms not ranking for a given timeframe.
Adding or removing keywords may affect the average position and current search result rankings.
As of December 2023, a change in logic was implemented. When calculating rank changes between two periods ('from' and 'to'), the first and last positions will be considered; let’s say users want to check rankings from 7 days, and only data is available starting on the 2nd day of that period. Ubersuggest will calculate the average and rankings using the data available. The variation displayed will be based on our earliest and latest data points, regardless of the reasons for any missing data.
Also, please keep in mind that the Current Search Rankings will not change when the user selects All Locations. To see changes, the user needs to select a specific project location.
Data Tracking Duration
The Rank Tracking feature stores keyword data for a maximum period of three years. After this timeframe, deleting and recreating the project will reset the data tracking.
Importing Keywords Using A CSV File
Users can upload keywords to track using our spreadsheet template or their own CSV file. Ubersuggest will search for keywords in a column titled "Keywords." To upload the CSV, click "add keywords" while in Rank Tracking.
At the top of the pop-up window, select "Import from CSV" and follow the instructions.
How Do I Remove Keywords From a Project?
Head to the Rank Tracking report; in the list of tracked keywords, users can either select all (by checking the first box) or select specific keywords in concern.
Once the users have selected at least one keyword, the “Delete” button will appear next to the “Add Keywords” button.
Important: If users are tracking more than one location, they will have to do the same process for each specific location. They can switch between locations at the top of the Rank Tracking report.
Why Do My Ranked Keywords Show No Data?
If users choose a date range preceding the day they added a keyword; they will not receive any data for that keyword. For instance, if they initially began their project with a few keywords and later decided to introduce new ones after a few months, selecting a date range that includes the months before the new keywords were added will result in the tool being unable to retrieve data for them. In such cases, they will receive a message indicating no data for those keywords is available.
Additionally, the tool can display data for newly added terms within a 30-day window. If they add a ranked keyword today, the tool will not display "no data" but will instead show the current position of that keyword.
