How to Get Keyword Ideas
Ubersuggest helps you discover new keyword ideas based on the keyword you type in. To do so, head to the keyword ideas section and type in the keyword you would like to get suggestions for. This way, you can get a comprehensive list of potential keywords you may want to rank for.
Similar to the overview section, you'll also be able to see volume data for each keyword as well as cost per click (CPC), paid difficulty (PD), and SEO difficulty (SD) data.
With the new tabbed options, it is possible to search by keyword or domain.
Search by Website
- If you type in a keyword instead of a domain, the search will run and flip you over to the "Search by Keyword" tab and run the search there.
- If you enter a domain instead of a keyword, the search will run and flip you over to the "Search by Domain" tab and run the search there.
Now, you can add up to 3 keywords to search at a time, for this you just have to type in each keyword and press the ¨Enter¨button on your keypad, once you are done, click on the search button.
You can apply some filters to your search, for example, SD score, Volume range, and CPC.
Also, you can filter your search by including or excluding any specific keyword, for example, if you want to see only results that include the keyword ¨X¨ and/or exclude the keyword ¨Y¨
You will notice as well, the results are divided by Suggestions, Related, Questions, Prepositions, and Comparisons. All the sections will include the targeted keywords and the filters as well.
How to Create Keyword Lists
Keyword research should be the basis of any online marketing campaign.
The simple goal of keyword research is to find out what your target audience is searching for and what it will take to actually rank for those keywords. Without knowing what keywords you should be targeting, how will you effectively optimize your website, target phrases for link building, or know what content to develop for your audience?
In the Keyword Analyzer Report click “Keyword Lists”
To create your first list click “Create Your First List”
Name your keyword list. For example, if you are compiling a list of your competitors' keywords name it “Competitors Keywords.” Then click “Create List”.
You can then add any keywords you wish to your list, select a location and then click “Add Keywords”.
You will then be taken to the “Keyword Lists” dashboard. Which will look something like this.
You will see a breakdown of the total search volume per month for all the keywords on your list combined, the Average CPC, Average Paid Difficulty, and Average SEO Difficulty.
If you want to add to your list while you are doing keyword research just select your desired keyword targets and select “Add to List”. The drop-down menu will give you the option to add them to the Keyword Lists or the Rank tracking.
Once you click on the ¨Add to List¨ button, an emergent tab will be shown where you can select the list to which you would like to add those keywords too.
Select the desired list and then, click on ¨Add Keywords¨
In order to add, edit or delete a keyword list you just have to go to the Lists Dashboard.
To add a new list, click on the orange button at the right top ¨Create New List¨
To edit or delete one of the existing lists click on the 3 dots in front of each list and select the option you need.
