Inside the Keyword Ideas report you find the feature First Page Potential. This quick article illustrates how to use the Page 1 Ranking Potential to find the best keywords for your website.
What is the First Page Potential?
The First Page Potential is an analysis tool located inside the Keyword Ideas report. It provides an analysis of a website, based on the keywords input. The feature suggests the best range of SEO Difficulty for your website to focus on, and which keywords have a higher potential of ranking on Google's first pages.
The feature is located on the top part of the Keyword Ideas report – below the Tabs (SUGGESTIONS/RELATED/QUESTIONS/PREPOSITIONS/COMPARISONS) and beside the filters for Volume, SEO Difficulty, CPC, and so on.
The First Page Potential helps filter out irrelevant terms and focuses on the best keywords for your niche.
How to Use the First Page Potential?
To activate the First Page Potential analysis, first run a search in the Keyword Ideas section.
Then, search for a website in the First Page Potential search box. The report will load an analysis like this example:
"We’ve filtered the results to show keywords your site has potential to rank for on page 1. Target keywords between 0-100 SEO Difficulty"
The keywords listed after the First Page Potential will change according to the maximum SEO Difficulty score suggested by the analysis.
For example, the report below now shows only keywords with an SD inferior to 100.
The analysis considers a website’s Domain Authority to define the SEO Difficulty target.

Observe that searching for pages, instead of a homepage, or root domain, will not yield a different analysis. In short, always search for example.com in the First Page Potential feature; searching for example.com/pages does not provide a different analysis for the specific page, it analyzes the website as a whole.
