Keyword research should be the basis of any online marketing campaign.
The simple goal of keyword research is to find out what your target audience is searching for and what it will take to actually rank for those keywords.
Without knowing what keywords you should be targeting, how will you effectively optimize your website, target phrases for link building, or know what content to develop for your audience?
Ubersuggest is great for helping you discover new keywords. But, how do you make sense of all those keywords? To organize your keywords you can use Ubersuggest’s Keyword Lists feature. Here’s how:
In the Keyword Research section click “Keyword Lists”
To create your first list click “Create Your First List”
Name your keyword list. For example, if you are compiling a list of your competitors' keywords, name it “Competitors Keywords.” Then click “Create List”.
You can then add any keywords you wish to your list, select a location and then click “Add Keywords”.
You will then be taken to the “Keyword Lists” dashboard. Which will look something like this.
You will see a breakdown of the total search volume per month for all the keywords on your list combined, the Average CPC, Average Paid Difficulty, and Average SEO Difficulty.
If you want to add to your list while you are doing keyword research just select your desired keyword targets and select “Add to List”.
A new tab will pop up to give you the option to select the Keyword List where you would like to add those keywords, after that, click on ¨Add Keywords¨.
If you need to apply some changes to the list like changing the name, deleting it, or adding new keywords. You have to go to the Keyword List Dashboard and on the right side of each list will see a 3 dots menu.
Hover over the 3 dots and will see the available options, click on the desired one and make sure the changes are successfully saved.
