Accurate data is key to successful SEO. With the new Refresh SEO feature, you can quickly access the most up-to-date information, helping you make smarter decisions and achieve better results. This feature streamlines your SEO workflow, ensuring that every decision is based on the latest data.
What is the Refresh SEO Difficulty Feature
Ubersuggest has upgraded the SEO Difficulty (SD) score algorithm to provide more accurate and reliable metrics. With the new Refresh feature, you can update the SEO Difficulty score for any keyword with a single click.
The SEO Difficulty (SD) column now also shows when each score was last refreshed, giving you full transparency and confidence in your data.
Where Can Users Use the Refresh SEO Feature
The Refresh SEO feature is available in areas related to keyword research and rank tracking. You can refresh the SEO Difficulty (SD) score for any keyword in the following sections:
From “Rank Tracking”
From “Keyword Ideas”
This feature refreshes your keyword report by retrieving the latest data and dynamically recalculating the SEO Difficulty (SD) score in real time.
How to Update the SEO Difficulty Score
To update the SEO Difficulty (SD) score for a single keyword, simply click the revolving arrows icon next to that keyword.
For bulk updates, you can select multiple keywords and click the “UPDATE” button at the top of the report, then click on “Update All”.
Keep in mind that updating several keywords at once may take longer, depending on how many you’ve selected.
SEO Difficulty Refresh Limit
The Refresh feature is limited based on your subscription plan. Paid users receive a set number of credits for refreshing keywords, while free or unregistered users have more restrictive limits. Here are the refresh limits by subscription type:
Unlogged Users: 0 credits
Free Users: 10 credits
Basic Lifetime Users: 50 credits
Restart Users: 50 credits
Individual Users (Monthly & Lifetime): 200 credits
Business Users (Monthly & Lifetime): 500 credits
Enterprise Users (Monthly & Lifetime): 700 credits
You can check your remaining credits by clicking the “Update” button. For example, the screenshot below shows 0/200 credits used.
Important Note: One credit equals one keyword refreshed. For example, if you refresh 100 keywords at once, it will use 100 credits. Refreshing the same keyword multiple times will count as multiple updates.
What Happens When SD Metrics Are Updated?
When you refresh a keyword’s SEO Difficulty (SD) score, the updated data is applied across all Ubersuggest features.
For example, if you refresh the SD score in the Rank Tracking section, the status will show “NOW” to indicate the update. The same updated SD value will then appear in all other relevant keyword reports, including Keyword Ideas.
If you’d like to learn more about SEO Difficulty (SD) and how it affects your keywords, you can access detailed information in the How SEO Difficulty Works: A Comprehensive Guide article. This will help you better understand the scores and make more informed SEO decisions.
My Credits Ran Out. What Now?
Credits are replenished on the first day of each month. If you run out of credits before then, you can purchase additional refresh credits in the Account & Billing section. Each add-on provides 500 extra credits for $5 per month.

Does the Refresh Option Update Other Metrics?
The Refresh button only updates the SEO Difficulty (SD) score. Other metrics—such as volume, cost per click, paid difficulty, and more—will remain unchanged. In the Rank Tracking section, these other metrics are updated automatically on a daily or weekly schedule, depending on your project’s tracking frequency.
Why is Refreshing SEO Difficulty Important?
Regularly updating your SEO Difficulty (SD) metrics ensures you’re working with the most current data. This helps you make informed decisions, spot trends or issues quickly, and adjust your SEO strategies as needed. Keeping your SEO metrics up to date is essential for staying competitive in today’s ever-changing digital landscape.
